Uniform
Our new uniform from September 2026 has been carefully designed to support students, comply with national guidance, and reflect Dixons’ principles.
The updated uniform policy aligns with our new school name and logo; and the drivers of the Dixons Academies Trust.
One of the key drivers in Dixons Academies Trust is aligned autonomy.
What is this?
This means that students will follow all the big key rules within in school, however they will have some autonomy (choice) in some areas of their school life.
In terms of uniform, this will mean that the majority of uniform will be the same for all students, however there will be some choice with part of it. This approach aims to create a shared, modern and professional look while giving young people an element of independence.
What else have we considered?
National guidance states that schools must limit the number of branded items in their uniform so that costs remain reasonable for families. We have ensured our updated uniform follows these rules fully.
We have also ensured that we have a SEND-friendly design. It was extremely important to us that the uniform is accessible and comfortable for all students. We have worked to ensure the options available are SEND friendly, including choices in fabrics, layers, and fit.
What will the uniform look like?
All students will wear the same core items, which form the aligned part:
White shirt
Year‑group tie
Black trousers
Black socks
Black shoes
PE kit
Students will also have areas where they can make individual choices, reflecting the autonomy element:
Choice of jumper and/or blazer – these will be school branded
Choice of jumper colour (Burgundy, black or grey)
Choice of jumper thickness
Optional branded PE hoodie (Burgundy, black or grey and school branded)
